Church Outreach Blog!!

Church Outreach Blog!!

Hey guys! This past Saturday was so crazy and without wasting a single minute, I’d like to share our awesome day with you.

So, here we go!

Saturday Morning

This past Saturday morning started with church prayer at 8:00am… which we were a little late to, hehe. Prayer usually ends at about 9:30 with group prayer, then we all go home after talking for a few minutes.

We knew we had an event in the afternoon, so we rushed to get ready. And, yet still, we were late. It really wasn’t that bad though cause we were literally only late by 10 minutes.

Saturday Afternoon

Okay, so we’ve finally arrived at our destination for the outreach. Immediately I started looking around for my friends, the daughters of the pastor we came to help. When I couldn’t find them, I asked their mom if they were coming and she said they just went out with some other girls and would be back in a minute. So everyone comes back and guess where they went??? To Dunkin’ Donuts… Without ME!!! So now we know that whenever a lot of girls are getting together, it’s best to be early, or at least on time, in our case.

When everyone arrived we started with prayer and before you knew it, we were out inviting people all around the community to the Tabernacle Church. But being honest with you guys, I’m ashamed to say I didn’t hand out not one flyer. I was kinda distracted following my mom around, watching her witness, playing basketball, and talking to the other girls. LOL!

When we they were officially done handing out flyers, we came back to our meeting place to close with prayer and some snacks. Something I was really happy about was that, all the girls got a cupcake because it was Abby’s birthday week!! Happy belated birthday Abby, if you’re reading. I could tell the cupcakes WERE beautiful, but they kinda got tossed around on the bumpy ride over.

After the snacks, the adults were still talking, so us girls decided to go hang out by the pool and put our feet in.

Sorry it’s is a little blurry 😁

The adults finished talking and it was time to go home. My dad and brothers had gone to another birthday party so my mom’s friend gave us a ride. On the way home though, we stopped to get some soup from our Grandma… because who doesn’t love soup? We finally got home and decided to give our guests a tour of our new house. That was surprisingly more fun than we all expected πŸ™‚

Saturday Evening

Saturday evening could be a contender for the most fun part of the day because… it was only mom and me at home!!!!! It was so exciting because we got to do all the girl stuff until my dad and brothers came home, which was pretty nice because they came home really late from the party!

It was around 10 pm when we decided to go upstairs to get ready for bed. But I am literally not even joking, as soon as I got upstairs, I heard the door open and the sound of men’s voices. They were home and the fun was over.😭

Thank you so, so, SO very much for reading today’s blog! If you enjoyed this post please be sure to leave a like and subscribe for more posts like this! Nonessential Vacation Essentials!

Nonessential Vacation Essentials!

Hey guys! πŸ‘‹

Almost everyone I know is already out of school for summer vacation. And what do most of us do over the summer? Travel!!!

But of course with going away for summer vacation comes the dreaded… PACKING. You know that horrible feeling you get when you have everything checked off of your list, but somehow you still feel that something is missing? Yeah, you’re not alone.

OK, so you’ve finally convinced yourself that you are in fact done packing and you’re not forgetting anything. However, there’s still plenty of room in your bag for those… NONESSENTIAL ESSENTIALS!!!! Soooo… what to bring…what to bring…

Let me help you out with that:

This is actually the exact portable charger I have

β™₯Portable Charger: Having a portable charger on vacation is THE BEST THING you can have. If you’re on the plane in or the car, you’re bored, you want to play games, but your phone is almost dead. Whalla! Your problem is fixed, you have a portable charger!!!

β™₯Headphones/Earbuds: I am a serious music fanatic and will listen to music anywhere. But, sometimes people don’t want to listen to music with me –can you believe that?! If you’re like me and want to listen to your music wherever you are, just whip out your headphones or earbuds and now everyone’s happy! 😌

β™₯Rubik’s Cube: This might not be as fun for someone else as it is for me, but I LOVE MY RUBIK’S CUBE!!! I learned how to solve it while on Christmas vacation in the fifth grade. That day I made up in my mind that my day wouldn’t end ’till I learned how to solve it. And I did! Ever since then I’ve taken it on pretty much every trip we go on! However, if you don’t know how to solve a Rubik’s cube, you can always bring a fidget spinner or some other small gadget to keep your hands occupied.

β™₯Extra phone case: Okay so this idea literally just popped into my head XD! But really, in all seriousness, it would be nice to bring an extra case just in case (no pun intended) your current one breaks, or you want one to match your outfit!

β™₯A good book: You never know when your flight will be delayed when you’re traveling by plane. One day on our way back from Missouri we had an overnight layover!! Hopefully, yours, if you have one, will only be for a couple hours, but that’s the perfect time to pull out a good book, relax, and just read.

β™₯Anything else: I know people are very different, and some things that I would pack, might not interest others so much. So, if some of these things just aren’t you, or you would prefer to fill the rest of your suitcase with different stuff, go for it!!

Thanks everyone for reading today’s post! Which item on this list would you take with you on vacation? Please leave a comment! Remember, if you guys enjoyed, be sure to leave a like and subscribe for more posts like this! Love you guys so much and until next Tuesday, stay smart! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘Œ

🀩Summer Bucket List!😎

🀩Summer Bucket List!😎

Hey guys, welcome back to my blog! So glad you could make it today!

Summer is just getting closer and closer as the days go by, am I right? I am personally super excited… although I have no summer vacation 😭😭. But anyways, for today’s post I thought I’d share my summer bucket list for this year with you! I’ve seen a lot of these going around on blogs, so I wanted to try it.

So let’s get into it!!

β™₯Finish my lessons: This is the NUMBER ONE THING ON MY BUCKET LIST because if I don’t finish my lessons, I can’t start 10th grade! *shudders*

β™₯Work on science project: My science project is a very important thing I have to work on for this year, so yeah! Gotta get that done as well.

β™₯Read more often: I’m going to be really honest with you guys. For being an “A+ Girl”, I haven’t been very good with keeping up with my reading. I used to read so much my Dad would have to check to make sure I wasn’t reading all night! But now, I’ve been studying so hard for BQ competitions that I haven’t been able to commit much time to reading. I plan to change that this summer.

β™₯Purchase a domain: Purchasing a domain would be so amazing, because I could get so many new features and customize my site the way I like!

β™₯Figure out a permanent theme: If you’ve been on my blog for a while, you have probably seen that I like to switch up my themes. This is really good because I have an idea in my head and I’m trying to bring it to life. Finding a permanent theme this summer would feel like a victory.

β™₯Purchase a new camera: I am literally not even joking when I say this. To take pictures I have been using my mom’s phone. MY MOM’S!!! It actually takes pretty good pictures, but using a camera would take much better pictures and look much more professional.πŸ˜‰

β™₯Buy a new phone: My phone is horrible, but that’s really my fault. One day I was running late for piano lessons, rushed out the car and dropped my phone on the concrete, oops! 😯So now the entire screen is cracked. On top of that, it recently started leaking ink. So yeah, a new phone is a must.

β™₯Get back on track with piano: I am not at all a professional. AT ALL. But I do really enjoy playing the piano. I have been taking a break but would really like to go back in full force this summer!

β™₯Work on my singing: I love singing. Like, REEEEALLY love singing. Once again, I am NOT a professional but I’m working to improve my voice and plan to continue doing that this summer. My brothers might not be happy about my constant singing but…they’ll just have to deal with it. 😈*diabolical laughs*

β™₯Volunteer at Kumon: Kumon, in case you guys didn’t know, is an educational program that tutors kids in mathematics and reading. Kumon also gives homework help. Since I’m doing pretty good in school (thank God), working here would be great. Especially because I’ve heard that colleges love volunteers.

β™₯Start jogging: From one of my previous posts, I mentioned that my Mom, my brothers and I go walking every morning… when there’s good weather. Soon I’m hoping to get so physically active that I can jog the entire span of the park. That would be awesome!

β™₯Write every day: Yes, I do write for my blog, but I was writing a story the other day and there were so many ideas just pouring out of my head onto the paper. The only word to explain it was, Magical.

β™₯Paint my room: Because who doesn’t love a freshly painted room? Since we moved into this new house in January, I’ve been planning to paint and decorate my new room. I really hope to start this summer and maybe even get it done. The reveal would be a fun blog post with lots of pictures!

I’m pretty sure that I’m leaving out a bunch of stuff, but I’ll let you guys know in different posts what else I want to complete!

Sorry this post was so long but thanks everyone reading! What’s on your summer bucket list? I’d love, love, LOVE to hear from you guys in the comments! Real quickly before you go, be sure to leave a like, subscribe, and share! I gotta get started on some of these goals, so until Thursday, stay smart! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘Œ

I finished my Material!!!πŸ˜†

I finished my Material!!!πŸ˜†

Hey guys! I am extremely excited about this post because as you can probably tell from the title, I FINISHED ALL MY BIBLE QUIZZING MATERIAL!!!!

By that I mean, I studied all of my Bible Quizzing verses for the ENTIRE SEASON! I am so proud of myself. 😌

Although the Nationals for Bible Quizzing is in late July, I actually finished right on time for our district finals this Saturday. So now, all we have to do is practice, practice, practice! The fun part, right? Nope. More like the stressful part. 😩

I mentioned in some other Bible Quizzing posts, that this is my first year in the Intermediate division (ages 12-15) and they have to study a lot more verses that the juniors (ages 9-11). And I finished all of the 427 Bible verses for the entire year!!!

Our beginner team in Junior Bible Quizzing
This is when I was a junior. Look how much younger I look!! My cousin quizzed with me as well

By the way guys, I know, I did say I would do a special post for when I reached 400 verses but I kinda forgot. Hehe 😁 But a post on finishing everything this is a lot better, right? Yeah, I thought so. πŸ˜‰

But thank you so much everyone for reading today’s post! IF you enjoyed it please be sure to leave a like and a share. Also if you haven’t already be sure to subscribe to this blog. Love ya’ll so much and until next Tuesday, stay smart! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘Œ

Be Yourself: The message of a flower

Be Yourself: The message of a flower

Hello everyone! If you’re new, welcome to my blog, and if not, Welcome back! I’m so glad all of you could make it today.

As you probably know, it is now nearing almost everyone’s favorite time of year, SUMMER!!!πŸ˜† The shining sun, the bright sky, the beautiful trees, the chirping birds, all the mosquitoes… well, maybe the mosquitoes aren’t so great, but it’s still summertime!

I literally can’t even explain how excited I am, especially because I love the heat. I mean really, REALLY love the heat.

But summer also brings another special quality that makes me very happy, beautiful flowers!!πŸŒΊπŸ’

My love for flowers was totally revitalized when spring came at our new house, there are tons blooming all over the yard! The previous owners must have really loved flowers because they did a great job planting plenty of perennials.

We have so many colorful flowers around our new home! No, we can’t switch houses πŸ˜‰

But did you know that as beautiful flowers are, they bring an inspiring message to us?

Consider this quote:

A flower does not think of competing to the flower next to it. It just blooms.

Zen Shin

When you look at the different flowers, they’re all so natural, beautiful, and unique, but so are all of us!

No matter who you are, what you look like, how old you are, or where you live, God has a plan for everyone’s life. Sometimes, you may look at someone doing God’s will for their life and compare yourself. But as the Bible says, it is foolish to compare ourselves among ourselves.

Different people have different callings, so don’t try to compete with your neighbor. Just, bloom into who God has called you to be!

7 Things I Look for in a friend

7 Things I Look for in a friend

Hi everyone!! Thanks for coming to my blog today, so glad you could make it.

For today’s post, I thought I’d talk about what a friend is to me. I have been blessed with some wonderful friends throughout my 13 years, and today I will be TOTALLY and BRUTALLY honest with you guys about what I consider a friend. So let’s find out!!

Really quickly, I just wanted to say to anyone that considers themselves my friend, that if I list a quality that you “think” you do not possess, please don’t be offended. I’m still praying that I, myself will possess all these qualities one day so I can be a better friend.

I’m sure right now you guys are itching to read on, so let’s get into it!!πŸ™ˆ

Having a God fearing friend is THE MOST important quality I look for. The only thing better than having a friend like that is…. well, being a friend of God himself of course, lol!!! πŸ˜›Especially during my teen years, the people I find myself around will most likely be who I become as an adult. Considering this, having a Christian friend, who loves and obeys the word of God could really help shape my life in God.

Really high on the list of what I look for in a friend is trust. If I can trust my friend, and they can trust me back, then we are on our way to a healthy relationship. Trust worthy friends are very important because if you tell them something private, you need to know that it won’t “accidentally” spread to everyone they talk to…if you know what I mean.

Having a friend that is honest is a another huge quality I look for. Honesty in character definitely, but really a friend that will tell me the truth. Although the truth may not be exactly what you want to hear from a friend, because let’s be honest, sometimes the truth hurts.😩 But if I can take their honest advice, ultimately I will be positively affected.

Again, ANOTHER big one. It’s extremely comforting to know that a friend is loyal, they are there for you, and you are there for them. Not inconsistent and only there for your stuff, (sorry I told you I would be brutally honest, lol) but one who truly stays, for you.

I think everyone knows that friends, if they’re really friends, are going to have disagreements. But even if the friend has all the other qualities above, how is all that supposed to work if they’re angry at you all the time. Having a friend that forgives quickly, can keep a relationship strong and going smoothly even after a major hiccup. The Bible encourages us not to let the sun go down on our wrath. I’m praying that I too will be a friend that forgives quickly.

Similar Interests

I really enjoy having conversations with people who have the same interests as me. I mean, if we’re really friends, we’re going to talk… a lot! That would be easier to do if we share the same interests. That very important first quality of being a christian comes in very handy here, we’re sure to enjoy clean conversations, and wholesome activities.

Honestly, I’m still working on this. Being willing to compromise (because I can totally be so stubborn sometimes πŸ˜…). I’m sure nobody likes someone who is constantly like, “my way or the highway!” But being willing to compromise also shows a sense of selflessness and care for the other person, which is always awesome.

So that’s it! Thank you all so much for reading today’s post! What do you guys look for in a friend? Please leave a comment below!! Also before you leave, be sure to like, subscribe, and share! And as always, until next Tuesday guys, stay smart! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘Œ

Prophecy Conference Northeast

Prophecy Conference Northeast

Hey ya’ll, happy Tuesday!!! Thanks for coming to my blog today. I’m really excited about today’s post because it’s a traveling one!!! (I haven’t done one of these in a little while) So without further ado, let’s get into it!

A Little Background…

From Friday, May 31st, to Saturday, June 1st, my family and I as well as some other saints from our church, were honored to attend the first ever Prophecy Conference of the Northeast, hosted at the Hilton Hotel in Stamford, Connecticut.

In the organization our church belongs to, there is only one other type of conference like this, but that’s all the way in Michigan, which is a little far for us who live in the Northeastern region of the US. Because of this, my dad’s good friend brother Michael felt led to bring it closer to his home church in Connecticut. Although this conference’s beginning was small, we’re expecting it to grow to one of the most attended in the UPCI!

Prophecy Conference Northeast

Friday Night

Friday night, the first night of the conference was a blast. And do you know why? One reason is because there were two bishops present who were selling books, and I was given permission to help!!! (My inner sales lady was awakened)

Sis. Karla, Abby, and me, selling books before the conference

Thankfully, we ended up selling lot’s of books. In the beginning, a lot of the people we asked to purchase a book as they were entering the “sanctuary” said “later”. After a bunch of people said that I started to get discouraged. But surprisingly, they actually did come back after the service! LOL!!!

The other reason the Friday night service was a blast was Bishop Kinsey preached an amazing message! But after church, something you gotta know about apostolic culture is that after every service, we go out to eat. No matter how late it is. In our case, it was 11 o’clock. But to us, that didn’t mean anything.

Dinner time!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were pretty hungry, for our midnight dinner, we ended up going to the Cheesecake Factory. And seriously, I have never in my 13 years of living seen a cheesecake factory so empty. We didn’t even have to wait for our seat!

On the other hand, everyone else at the conference went to Peter Chang’s, not PF Chang’s, Peter Chang’s. I heard it was pretty crowded in that restaurant.

Because I don’t want this post to be too long, I’m not gonna give you all the details of what we ate but I did have three shrimp tacos, and for dessert, the original cheesecake. (With so many other fancy cheesecakes on the menu, even the waitress was laughing at me! LOL!!)

So many cheesecakes and I chose the… original

Saturday Morning

OK, fast forwarding to the next day. Despite our late night, I was up before 6:30 a.m. the next day and downstairs for breakfast by 8 a.m. #earlybird

Again, since I don’t want to keep ya’ll too long, for breakfast I had a cup of coffee, breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, this cheesy thingy, and lots, and LOTS of bacon.

After finishing breakfast, before Saturday’s day session, I was once again blessed to help with selling the books. Which was awesome. The good news I have that job secured for next years prophecy conference too πŸ˜‰

After church started, we had to… I mean “we had the privilege to…” go inside to hear the message from Bishop Wilson and Bishop Kinsey. After the preaching and altar call we went back to the book table, because after church people were swarming the table like bees to get the last of the books that hadn’t been sold on Friday. Once again, everyone wanted to wait until after church, LOL!!!

Right now I’m just thinking of all those people, and all those books. Wow, I loved all the excitement behind all of it.

Saturday Afternoon

Soon after most of the books were sold and all the people left, we started cleaning up with the intention of going to lunch. Upon finishing, we went to join everyone at lunch but, there weren’t any more seats!

My Dad asked the staff to put out a new table for Sis. Karla (the adult helping us) Jonny and I, LOL! They actually did it though.

The food was OK, but in the kids section for ages twelve and under, they were eating like kings. They had their entree, plus dessert, and on top of that, are you ready for this….snacks.

I’m thirteen, but I look a lot older than that so I couldn’t sneak in. It’s a hard knock life.

Soon after the fellowship and a little bit of cleaning, it was time to go home. The Prophecy Conference Northeast was the best conference I’ve ever attended!!!

All Done!!

So that’s it for today ya’ll!! I hope you enjoyed this post, and again, a huge thanks for reading! It’s time for me to go now, but until Thursday, stay smart!πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘Œ
